Join me and make some cute little gift baggies! Whether it's for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Birthdays, special treats, or whatever you want! - it's so cute to give a gift in a handmade and reusable bag! This is a fun little project for beginners and advanced students alike! Students must have taken Sewing 101 or have the equivalent experience.

This is a super chill class - we'll make bags, eat cookies, and sip tea! Depending on your level, you might be able to make a couple bags, so bring extra fabric just in case! :)

*You'll need a fat quarter for the outer bag and a fat quarter for the inner bag, plus ribbon or string for the drawstring. (A fat quarter is half of a half yard of fabric - if you just get a half yard that is fine too - you will have extra to use for more bags!) Quilting cotton is recommended, though this is also a good stash-buster project, so feel free to bring in random size scraps to use too! For a great source of quilting cotton, check out Yankee Pride in Essex Junction. You can also get some nice cotton-linen blend solids (which make great bags!) from Stash Fabric in Burlington, VT.

*You will also need something for a drawstring - small gauge cotton drawstring is great, ribbon, or twill tape works too! You'll need approximately 1.5 yards. If you can't find anything, we do have black twill tape at the studio that you are welcome to use). Thread is also supplied at the studio, but if you want a specific color, please bring your own as I can't guarantee a color match.

Sewing machines and tools are also at the studio for your use, so no need to bring anything besides fabric!

Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
