Come and make a super fun summer hat! This is a beginner friendly project so as long as you have taken Sewing 101 or have the equivalent experience, you are good to go!

Make it stiff or floppy! Learn about different ways to stabilize and stitch. Have fun designing a fun summer hat!

Please purchase and print the PDF pattern in advance! You can purchase the pattern here: https://elbetextiles.com.au/products/serpentine-hat

Make sure to print at 100% scale or it will be the wrong size! Please also determine your size and get the paper pattern cut out before class. If you need any help with this, please email sophie@littlebirdsewing so that she can help you out! :)

You will need:

1/2 yard Main Fabric (Denim, canvas, cotton drill, other medium/heavy weight woven fabrics that hold their structure)

1/2 yard Lining Fabric (Medium/heavy weight structured woven fabrics)

Matching thread (or you can use the studio thread but it might not be a perfect match!)

*You can find great fabric choices locally at Stash Fabric in Burlington. Also check out Yankee Pride for some fun quilting cotton prints that could work nicely for a lining!

Little Bird Studio will provide interfacing, though if you’d like a particularly stiff brim, please bring your own heavy-duty interfacing.

This class is one session, July 9th from 6pm - 9pm.

This is an adult only class, 16yrs and up. Younger, mature students with parental supervision considered with teacher permission. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 72hrs in advance so that we can hopefully fill your spot. If you have to cancel for an emergency or illness with less than 72hr notice, we will do our utmost to reschedule you into another class, and otherwise a full refund will be issued.
