Let’s learn all about hems! We’ll spend the first hour of class going over different ways to hem things - from your classic roll hem, to using hem tape, hand-stitched invisible hem, and a blind hem, along with some extra fancy ones too! (Like…how do you hem a curve?) :D

The second 2 hours of class will be dedicated to hemming your things! Bring in pants, skirts, dresses, and shirts! We’ll look at what everyone has brought and learn the process of figuring out how to hem it - marking it and prepping it and sewing it! Feel free to bring all sorts of things made out of all different materials! Also, bring more than one thing if you have it! There might be time to work on multiple items, and it’s also a good time to ask questions and get help with something you aren’t’ sure about! You can always get it set up in class and then hem it at home! :)

Thread, tools, and machines are supplied in studio, though feel free to bring your own machine if you’d prefer. I do have lots of different colors of thread that you are welcome to use, but if you want a specific color, please bring your own, or purchase some from Stash.

Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
