Learn the basics of sewing: how to set up and use a sewing machine, cut out a small project, and stitch it all together! In this class, we will make a fully reversible tote bag! Class also comes with a PDF copy of the Little Bird Tote bag pattern so that you can make more at home! Physical copies are also available in the studio for an additional cost.

This is a 3 hour workshop. Tools and machines are provided (although you are welcome to bring your own (fully functional) sewing machine if you’d like to learn on your machine!

Tote bag kits are available at Stash Fabrics in Burlington, VT, or you can pre-purchase a Little Bird Tote kit on this website to be provided to you on the day of the class. *Little Bird Tote kits are random! You will not know the color or print, but it will be 100% cotton! If you’d like to choose your own supplies, please visit Stash Fabrics to purchase a kit or purchase fabric.

For this class you need:

1/2 yard “outer” fabric

1/2 yard “inner” fabric

Matching thread (or you can use studio provided thread which only comes in black or white)

Fabric must be woven (non-stretch), preferably cotton or a cotton/linen blend. If you have any questions please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com or go into Stash Fabrics and ask for assistance there - Robin will know what you need!

This is an adult only class, 18yrs and up. Younger, mature students considered with teacher permission. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 72hrs in advance so that we can hopefully fill your spot. If you have to cancel for an emergency or illness with less than 72hr notice, we will do our utmost to reschedule you into another class, and otherwise a full refund will be issued. No refunds will be given for no-shows. Thank you for your understanding!
