Let’s make some summer shorts!

Get ready for summer and make your own shorts!! These shorts will feature an elastic waist and pockets! This is a 4 hour class - it’s long! But we will make sure to take breaks often and in the end everyone will finish a pair of super rad shorts!

Fabric for the shorts must be gathered ahead of time - Just make sure it is a woven (non-stretch) fabric (quilting cotton, poplin, linen, cotton/linen, are all great options!). Just nothing too thick (please no denim or canvas) and nothing too “wudgy” (no satin, silk, rayon - wiggly, slippery stuff like that!). You will need 1.5 yards. Your pocket lining can be a contrast fabric if you want! You only need a fat quarter for this! :)

Fabric can be purchased in the studio from Stash Fabric, or take a look at The Makery down the street, or Yankee Pride in Essex Junction. You can also be creative and upcycle old sheets, large shirts, etc. Just make sure there is enough for shorts and that it is appropriate weight fabric! :)

This class is from 10am - 2pm. We will take a lunch break halfway through class, so please bring something to eat and drink (please no candy, gum, or soda). All drinks should be covered (a juice box is fine!). There is water at the studio if needed.

Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
