Visible Mending w/ Ande, II: March 12th, 5:30-7:30pm

Visible Mending w/ Ande, II: March 12th, 5:30-7:30pm

from $55.00

This second mending class is for those who have taken a previous class with Ande or others who have some experience mending. (If you don’t have experience, please still feel free to join! This is a continuation, but it’s still very accessible!). This class will introduce you to more advanced techniques including transferring stitch patterns onto your garments and exploring reverse applique. There will be time to work through your mending questions or stumbling blocks on your current projects. Perfect for jeans, pants, collared shirts, and skirts. Visible mending is great for holes, stains, logos, and boring/tired garments. Take a look at your mending stash and bring in that skirt that needs some TLC! Please note, this is not a darning class, so skip the knit mends for now! Needle and sashiko thread provided. Feel free to bring scrap fabric.

Ande Tagliamonte is a textile artist and owner of Hand & Bobbin of Richmond, VT. Her work primarily focuses on using visible mending techniques to extend the life of well loved clothes, accessories, and household linens.  If you are interested in visible mending & vintage fabrics, check out her work on Instagram @handnbobbin

**If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com. This is an intermediate class, but if you have limited experience, it still might be totally ok - so please feel free to reach out if you’re interested but concerned about the level.

**You will notice that there are two options for class payment! One adds a $5 donation to the Sewing Scholarship Fund! This is optional, but much appreciated - The $5 goes towards supporting a student this summer in summer camp and is a program that is launching this year! Thank you for your support!

Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
