Let's Make the Arthur Pants! 9:30am-12:30pm, May 6th, 13th, and 20th (Daytime/Weekday Class)
Let’s make some really fun pants!! The Arthur pants by Sew Liberated feature a wide barrel cut, some fun seam lines, pockets, and an easy elastic waist. These are great beginner-friendly pants, with some details to also challenge someone with a little more experience!
We will:
-determine proper size and cut out our pattern and fabric
-learn to sew flat fel seams
-learn to do in-seam pockets and patch pockets
-learn to make an elastic waist
-learn to hem
This class is appropriate for slightly experienced beginners and up - beginners must have taken Sewing 101 or have the equivalent experience - if you have any questions or concerns, please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com
You will need:
*Fabric! - You’ll need approximately 3.5 yards of a woven (non-stretch) fabric.
“The Arthur Pants are designed for mid-weight woven fabrics, such as linen, gabardine, silk noil, lightweight twill, or cotton chambray” - A lightweight denim, or cotton/linen blend would work nicely too! You want something that has a little bit of body to show off the rad pant shape! You can purchase fabric at Stash Fabric, or The Makery locally.
*The Pattern! - Please purchase the pattern here. And then get it printed out at Stash Fabric here so that it’s ready for class! You don’t need to cut it out yet - we’ll do that in class together!
*Elastic! - you’ll need 1.5” wide elastic for the waist - we are doing the elastic waist version (no zipper). For elastic, get at least your waist measurement in length. (we will end up using a little less, but it’s good to have a little extra!) :)
This class is 3 sessions, each three hours long.
