Visible Mending with Ande: Jeans and Denim - January 16th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
This class will help you learn how to mend your jeans and celebrate the wear and tear of everyday use! Perfect for those ripped jeans you can't let go of, or a chance to personalize your look and get creative! You will learn several mending techniques in this class including stitch patterning. This is a hand-sewing class appropriate for ages 16+. Some experience with hand sewing is helpful, but not necessary. If you can thread a needle, you can mend! Please bring a pair of jeans (or two), denim or canvas clothing that you'd like to mend or add to. This class will help you complete at least one mend or patch. Be prepared to experiment with color, shapes, and lines! Cotton thread, needles, and scrap fabric will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. You can purchase supplies at Northeast Fiber Arts in Williston, or Stash Fabric in Burlington. Small scraps and old clothing scraps are welcome!
This class is taught by special guest Ande Tagliamonte. Ande is a textile artist and owner of Hand & Bobbin of Richmond, VT. Her work primarily focuses on using visible mending techniques to extend the life of well loved clothes, accessories, and household linens. If you are interested in visible mending & vintage fabrics, check out her work on Instagram @handnbobbin
This class will run on January 16th, 5:30 - 7:30pm
