Winter Wonder Hood, Feb. 15th, 9am - 12 noon
Let’s make something cozy for the February cold and make the Winter Wonder Hood! Designed by Sophie and published in Tauko Magazine this last year, have fun making a cute little hood to snuggle into during those cold Vermont winter days and nights!
This is a beginner friendly project, but you should have taken Sewing 101 or have the equivalent experience. If you have any questions or concerns, just email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com
The pdf pattern is available to purchase here: https://www.taukomagazine.com/shop/digitalpatternwinterwonderhood
Or you can purchase the magazine at Stash Fabrics in Burlington VT and enjoy a whole bunch of fun patterns and articles! The magazine is also available to purchase at Little Bird if you decide last minute you'd like a copy! :) You will need to have your pattern cut out and ready to go for class (so printed out and taped together, or traced from the magazine). You don’t need to cut your fabric yet - just have your pattern ready.
Great fabric options are available at Stash Fabric in Burlington, or you might happen upon something at The Makery (a second hand craft store on Pine St. in Burlington). Joann’s has plenty of polar fleece to choose from as well :)
We will be doing the knit fabric version! Please bring 1/2 yard of an outer fabric - I recommend a sweatshirt fleece, polar fleece, or sherpa fleece knit fabric. If the “wrong” side of the fabric you choose doesn’t feel nice against the skin, you might also want a lining fabric (1/2 yard - it can be the same fabric you got for the outside, or something soft and thinner - it doesn’t necessarily have to be stretchy so you could use a cotton flannel or something like that if you wanted!). You'll also need some knit ribbing (1/4 yard should be plenty), or if you purchase pre-made ribbing, please get a package of it. If you can't find ribbing, any knit fabric will do that has at least a 25% stretch. I’ll have a variety of colors at the studio that folks can use as well. Please just email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with any questions!
If you'd like to add a pompom, please bring some yarn and we will go over how to make it!
Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
