Quilting Basics for Kids! Nov. 15th, 1 - 4pm
Quilting Basics for Kids Class!
Give your young sewist a fun introduction to the world of quilting! In this hands-on three-hour class, kids will learn the basics of making a quilt from start to finish while creating their own small quilted placemat project.
We’ll begin with piecing, learning how individual fabric pieces are sewn together to create a quilt design. From there, students will learn how to make a quilt sandwich and then finally, they’ll get to try their hand at machine quilting, learning how stitching through all layers brings the quilt to life.
This class is designed for kids who have some basic sewing experience and are comfortable sitting and working at a sewing machine. We’ll keep things fun, hands-on, and age-appropriate, with plenty of encouragement along the way.
All supplies are included in the class fee, so students can simply bring their enthusiasm and get ready to sew!
Class Length: 3 hours
Experience Level: Some sewing experience required
This class is for students 9-13yrs old.
Please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with any questions!
