Learn how to use a sewing machine and make some awesome projects along the way! This is the perfect camp for a super solid foundation in sewing!

This camp runs from 1pm - 4pm, M-F. Students must bring all supplies listed on the first day of class. (No need for sewing machine or sewing tools).

In this camp learn:

All the sewing basics!

Make:

A Small Pillow

A reversible tote bag

A reversible apron

A zipper pouch

Supplies needed:

Small Pillow: ¼ yard quilting cotton for one panel, ¼ yard quilting cotton for a contrast panel, ¼ yard for the back of the pillow. Polyfil stuffing will be provided.

Tote bag: 1/2 yard quilting cotton (or a woven, non-stretch fabric, not too heavy-weight) for the outside of the bag, 1/2 yard quilting cotton for the inside of the bag. Matching thread.

Apron: 1.5 yards quilting cotton (or a woven, non-stretch fabric, not too heavy-weight) for one side and 1.5 yards yard quilting cotton for the other side. Matching thread.

Zipper pouch: we can use the leftover fabric from the other projects for this! Zipper will be provided.

Supplies can be purchased locally at Yankee Pride in Essex Junction (for quilting cotton), Stash Fabric VT (for cotton/linen blends), or find some second hand fabric at The Makery in Burlington. An email will be sent out when we are closer to class time to confirm supplies and any last-minute info. Students should arrive on time (please don’t arrive earlier than 10 minutes before class as Sophie will be prepping things for class). Pick-up is at 12pm. Thanks so much!

This class is for students 9yrs to 8th grade, with some exceptions depending on experience and maturity-level. Sometimes younger highschool students take this series if they don’t mind being with a younger group, but high school students may attend the adult classes as well. **If you have any financial need, please feel free to reach out! We have started a sewing scholarship fund for young sewists. If you need to cancel, please do so AT LEAST 4 weeks prior to camp! (In this case, please cancel before June 9th). Due to planning and limited space, we need at least a couple weeks to try to fill the slot. If you cancel anytime after, a partial refund will be provided (50%), with a full refund issued only if we can fill your spot. If you need to cancel due to illness or family emergency, we will do our best to find another slot for you later in the summer to attend. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS SICK!
