Let’s make a quilt together! Using all sorts of different fabric prints and having fun with design, let’s put together a super fun little quilt and learn the basics of quilting!

Beginners are welcome, though this is also a great course for sewists that have a little more experience too!

This camp is for students 9yrs to 8th grade, with some exceptions depending on experience and maturity-level. Sometimes younger highschool students take this series if they don’t mind being with a younger group, but high school students may attend the adult classes as well. At Little Bird we keep classes to 4 students, so each student can get the attention they need to do their best work! This is also a 3 hour/day class - we will take a snack break halfway through, but please make sure that your child is up to the challenge - this is a long time to stay focused and be sewing! :)

Fabric for the quilt top fabric will be provided by the studio so that students can pick and choose a whole bunch of different colors and patterns to put together! Quilt batting will be provided by the studio and is included in the class fee as well. You will need to purchase fabric for the quilt back and binding. Choose a color or print that you love! :D

You will need:

1.5 yards of fabric (quilting cotton) for the quilt back

1 yard of fabric (quilting cotton) for the quilt binding

**You are also welcome and encouraged to bring random pieces of fabric for the quilt top squares if you want as well! It will be fun to mix and match and share with the class! But there will also be plenty to share at the studio, so no worries!

You can purchase these items at Yankee Pride in Essex Junction. You can also find some of these things at The Makery in Burlington (they are a second hand craft store so it’s a little hit or miss but they do usually have a lot of quilting cotton!). If you need to cancel, please do so AT LEAST 4 weeks prior to camp! (In this case, please cancel before May 26th). Due to planning and limited space, we need at least four weeks to try to fill the slot. If you cancel anytime after, a partial refund will be provided (50%), with a full refund issued only if we can fill your spot. If you need to cancel due to illness or family emergency, we will do our best to find another slot for you later in the summer to attend. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS SICK!
