Let’s work on a project of choice for a fun-filled week of sewing! This camp is meant to be a more advanced level, giving students a chance to make a more complex and difficult project, but since it is a project of choice, it can certainly be catered to the student’s level. However, students should at least have taken Sewing 101 or have the equivalent sewing experience to join - we will not be going over the basics of using the sewing machine in this class.

Some ideas for a project include: a summer dress, shorts and top, backpack, jacket, overalls or an overall dress, skirt and top, messenger bag, drawstring tote bag, a quilt…among others! There will be a database available to peruse pattern ideas and supply needs, but also feel free to search around for other project ideas. You will need to confirm the project with Sophie in advance and she can help you figure out what supplies you will need. You may also want to have a second project lined up, just in case you finish your first ahead of time. Again, please email Sophie to chat about options. Database of pattern options coming soon! (I’ll email out about it when it is available). All supplies must be brought on the first day of class.

This class is for students 9yrs to 8th grade, with some exceptions depending on experience and maturity-level. Sometimes younger highschool students take this series if they don’t mind being with a younger group, but high school students may attend the adult classes as well. If you need to cancel, please do so AT LEAST 4 weeks prior to camp! (In this case, please cancel before June 16th. Due to planning and limited space, we need at least four weeks to try to fill the slot. If you cancel anytime after, a partial refund will be provided (50%), with a full refund issued only if we can fill your spot. If you need to cancel due to illness or family emergency, we will do our best to find another slot for you later in the summer to attend. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS SICK!
