Let's Make Dog Stuff! July 21st - 25th, 1pm - 4pm
Do you love dogs and want to make some stuff for them? This is the camp for you! We will make a super cute dog jacket, bandana, and toy! This camp is geared towards students who have some previous sewing experience, though beginner students are also welcome and we will simplify projects as needed to accommodate! :)
Pattern for the dog jacket, supplies for the bandana and toy will be provided and are included in the camp fee. Students will however need to purchase fabric for their dog jacket.
You will need:
1 yard (for small or medium dogs), 1.5 yards (for large dogs), 1.75 (for XL dogs) - outer fabric- can be a cotton canvas, lightweight denim, cotton jacquard, mid - heavy cotton canvas or twill, mid weight denim or corduroy - something that you’d like the outer part of the jacket to be!
You’ll need the same amount for the lining. This can be something cozy like fleece if you want it to be a warm jacket, or it can be a quilting cotton for a lighter-weight version.
All other supplies will be provided.
If you have any questions or concerns about what fabric to get, please email me and I can help! Sophie@littlebirdsewing.com. Check out Stash Fabric in Burlington, VT, The Makery, also in Burlington, and Yankee Pride in Essex Junction for supplies.
This class is for students 9yrs to 8th grade, with some exceptions depending on experience and maturity-level. Sometimes younger highschool students take this series if they don’t mind being with a younger group, but high school students may attend the adult classes as well. (Please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with questions and concerns).
**If you have any financial need, please feel free to reach out! We have started a sewing scholarship fund for young sewists. This is brand new this year, and in it’s early stages, but please don’t hesitate to ask about it and/or forward the information to folks who might want to attend, but need a bit of financial assistance to make it happen! :D Email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com for more info.
If you need to cancel, please do so AT LEAST 4 weeks prior to camp! (In this case, please cancel before June 23rd). Due to planning and limited space, we need at least four weeks to try to fill the slot. If you cancel anytime after, a partial refund will be provided (50%), with a full refund issued only if we can fill your spot. If you need to cancel due to illness or family emergency, we will do our best to find another slot for you later in the summer to attend. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS SICK!
