Let's Make Some Bunting! May 23rd, 2pm - 4:30pm - A Family Friendly Event!

from $45.00

Let’s have fun and make some bunting! The perfect decoration for any occasion (or just all the time!). It’s also a great way to use up some scraps! Learn how to create pattern pieces for your custom bunting, different ways of creating the flags, and how to attach bias binding to create the “rope.”

This class is open to all levels, though some sewing experience would be handy, I’m happy to do a quick run-down if needed! The sewing machines will be pre-set up and ready for action, so even if you don’t really know how to use the machine, you will be A-Ok! Fun for beginners and advanced students alike!

We are trying something a little new with this class! This class is open to all! Each person over 16 needs to purchase an individual class ticket, but if you are an adult parent/caregiver and wish to work as a team with your child, choose the “adult plus child” option - there is an extra fee of $10. If you choose to bring a child along with you, just make sure that they will be ok in a shared space with both kids and adults, for a 2.5 hour period. You are responsible for your child. Children may not attend the class on their own. Children must be 6yrs and up. Adult and child will share a machine and work together to create their bunting.

**Please bring fabric! Any shape or size will do - I recommend at least 6 or so fat-quarter equivalents to have plenty to work with, but smaller scraps are good and larger pieces are good too. There will also be some fabric at the studio for folks to use! Feel free to share and trade! Please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with any questions or concerns.

**You also need one packet of bias tape, preferably at least 1/2” wide (the narrower stuff is just really tricky to work with). I will also have some extra packets if needed! You can also purchase bias tape by the yard at Stash (we share a studio space with Stash, so that’s handy!) :)

Please check out The Makery in Burlington for you fabric needs for this project - The Makery focuses on second-hand craft supplies and this is a great way to give old fabric new life! If you want to get new fabric (also totally ok!) please consider shopping locally and checking out Stash Fabrics (who we share a space with) and Yankee Pride in Essex Junction.

Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
