Let's Make Some Bunting! March 15th, 2-5pm

from $60.00

Let’s have fun and make some bunting! The perfect decoration for any occasion (or just all the time!). It’s also a great way to use up some scraps! Learn how to create pattern pieces for your custom bunting, different ways of creating the flags, and how to attach bias binding to create the “rope.”

This class is open to all levels, though some sewing experience would be handy, I’m happy to do a quick run-down if needed! The sewing machines will be pre-set up and ready for action, so even if you don’t really know how to use the machine, you will be A-Ok! Fun for beginners and advanced students alike!

**Please bring fabric! Any shape or size will do - I recommend at least 6 or so fat-quarter equivalents to have plenty to work with, but smaller scraps are good, larger pieces are good too. There will also be some fabric at the studio for folks to use! Feel free to share and trade! Please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with any questions or concerns.

**You also need one packet of bias tape, preferably at least 1/2” wide (the narrower stuff is just really tricky to work with). I will also have some extra packets if needed!

Please check out The Makery in Burlington for you fabric needs for this project - The Makery focuses on second-hand craft supplies and this is a great way to give old fabric new life! If you want to get new fabric (also totally ok!) please consider shopping locally and checking on Stash Fabrics in Burlington and Yankee Pride in Essex Junction. (Yankee Pride will have quilting cottons which are a bit more conducive to this project, whereas Stash is much more for garment-sewing, but do check them both out if you haven’t!)

This class is for high school age and up, with younger, mature students considered with teacher permission. Please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with any questions or concerns.

**You will notice that there are two options for class payment! One adds a $5 donation to the Sewing Scholarship Fund! This is optional, but much appreciated - The $5 goes towards supporting a student this summer in summer camp and is a program that is launching this year! Thank you for your support!

Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
