Ready to take your pattern literacy up a level? This workshop is for you! We will go over the basics of manipulating a sewing pattern, learning some basic hacks (hem adjustments, dart/seam adjustments, fullness adjustments, and some fun sleeves!).

This is a lecture-based workshop that will be geared towards question-answering and discussion. We won’t actually be making anything, but this will hopefully start you on your way to manipulating a sewing pattern, or at least introducing you to the basics of pattern manipulation! This is geared towards students who have already worked from a sewing pattern before, but newbies and more advanced students alike are very welcome!

This is an adult class (16+), but younger, mature (high-school age) students are welcome with the instructor’s permission. Please email sophie@littlebirdsewing.com with any questions or concerns.

You don’t need to bring anything for this class, though feel free to bring any sewing patterns that you have questions about!

This is a pay what you can workshop! The base price is $20, with a few more options going up. Anything you choose to add to the initial cost will go towards the Sewing Scholarship Fund which I am implementing this summer to help kids pay for classes and camp as needed! Things happen and sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable. Please contact Sophie as soon as you know you need to cancel so that plans can be made to reschedule. For pre-paid workshops, cancellations are only accepted up to a week before the scheduled workshop and you will be refunded in full. Any later than that and only 50% will be refunded with the remainder going towards class costs (time and supplies), unless we are able to fill your spot with someone else. Please don’t come to class sick - we will work with you to reschedule! Thanks so much!
